x0xi0 Build Manual for Custom PCB’s w/ Standard Enclosure v1.02
Build manuals updated
May 23rd, 2012Build manual updated
March 2nd, 2012The Build manual for x0xi0 kits with Custom x0xb0x PCB’s and Custom Enclosure has been revised to v1.02.

Website updated
January 10th, 2012The website has been updated for 2012. The appearance is similar but it is a major upgrade under the hood. The sitemap has been simplified and the content has been updated. The amount of x0xi0 products has been growing over the past two years and we’ve tried to simplify & explain everything that is available. Also the site has been moved to x0xi0.com.
One specific change is the removal of the x0xi0 schematics from the website. There has now been two instances of individuals copying the x0xi0 schematics and wanting to sell the instrument that I designed. The x0xi0 modifications are not simple passive modifications or otherwise trivial enhancements, but rather substantial designs. If you are a paid customer and don’t have the schematics already please contact via email.
Install Manuals for x0xi0’s with Custom PCB and Enclosure Kits
April 10th, 2011This is quick overview of the x0xi0 variations currently available, as well as some download links for the latest drafts of the newer Build Manuals.
The x0xi0 comes in three variations.
1) x0xi0 Full Kit This kit comes as an upgrade for an existing x0xb0x, and is used when starting with a x0xb0x that is already on hand, whether assembled or not. This kit only contains the parts pertaining to the x0xi0 modifications, and it is assumes the builder has the remaining parts for the x0xb0x. The standard Build Manual is used for completing this kit:

2) x0xi0 Full Kit w/ x0xb0x Custom PCB Kit: The x0xb0x Custom PCB Kit is optional and includes a x0xb0x Mainboard PCB, x0xb0x I/O Board PCB, and associated parts. These PCB’s were designed specifically with the x0xi0 Kit. There are two reasons for the x0xb0x Custom PCB Kit. First, it simplifies assembly; and second, it is compatible with the x0xi0 Custom Enclosure.

3) x0xi0 Full Kit w/ x0xb0x Custom PCB Kit and x0xi0 Custom Enclosure Kit: This variation adds the Custom Enclosure Kit which includes an aluminum enclosure and associated parts.

Updates
October 6th, 2010It’s been a while since the last update. I still have not finished the documentation for the custom PCB assembly. I have just picked up on it again ..no ETA promise but it is high priority now and will be finished as soon as possible. There are a few very exciting bits of news regarding the x0xi0 and BC Audio that will be posted shortly, stay tuned. Here’s a few pics of some Full kits that have shipped recently.

I/O & Overdrive Install manual online version is up
August 13th, 2010The I/O Install is up in both PDF and online.
Make sure to clear your temp internet files or refresh pages, there are always updates, improvements, fixed links etc…
I/O & Overdrive Install Manual Rev2
August 12th, 2010I completed the new Rev2 of the I/O & Overdrive Install manual. It’s only available as a PDF download. The online version will be ready in a couple days.
You may have noticed I updated all the schematics a few weeks ago to fix errors and bring to Rev2. They are also available for PDF download.
I’m still working on the Install manual specific to the custom x0xb0x PCB’s. It’s tricky concerning the correct order to do things and testing etc.. so it’s taking some time.
New Install manual, x0xi0 vs TB-303 comparison
June 29th, 2010The Install manual took longer than I hoped, it was a lot of work, completely revamped with many improvements including:
- all errors corrected
- test procedure added
- link to hi-res versions of each page
- pdf download
Next up is deriving the I/O Install & Full kit w/Custom PCB versions of the manual. Also , the Users manual, with block diagrams, is close to being completed
Below is a comparison to the 303. Some people had asked for more basic demos, and I went even further. I adjusted them at several settings where they sound identical…
There is also a hi-res version of the video here:

June 25th, 2010just a quick note the Full kit install manual version 2.0 will be up shortly.
I took down the old version and haven’t updated the pages so you’ll; get a 404…
new Install & User manuals coming soon
June 15th, 2010lack of updates the past two weeks does not equal lack of progress ![]()
I am very excited to have been able to deliver another eight x0xi0’s I’ve had in the queue for building, fixing, and/or calibrating. Here’s a shot of the latest one:
I have been able to concentrate on some of the documentation that has been lacking. The additional kits & improvements that have been completed recently have made it somewhat difficult to figure out exactly what’s going on. I have completed version 2 of the Full Kit Install Manual that will be going online this coming weekend. It will also be available as a PDF download, as will all the documentation shortly. This new Install manual integrates the Test Procedure that I had been working on, and includes many improvements, corrections, and additional information.
I’ve also made a lot of progress on the User Manual. It’s very detailed but very easy to read and is badly needed to help everyone figure out all the unique tricks of the x0xi0. I’m also doing some demo videos demonstrating use (that demo I did last year with the 1st run kit is pretty lame if you ask me!) the synth is capable of some amazing stuff, it’s just hard to decide where to start..
